Welcome Andy Salmon to Our Board of Trustees
Plan for Peace is proud to announce that Former Commandant General Royal Marines, Andy Salmon, has joined our Board of Trustees. As Plan for Peace extends its framework and blazes ahead in its mission, so does its base of supporters and mentors!
Plan for Peace is fundamentally grounded in supporting changemakers, community leaders and policymakers who advocate for peace and social cohesion. From Infrastructures for Peace to community programmes, our approach centers on non-violent, inclusive, and heart-centred strategies. It is with this that we welcome a new perspective to our mission.
Andy Salmon CMG OBE has extensive experience of conflict and resolution from his front-line service with the Royal Marines. Andy is passionate about the importance of countries seeking peace and the ways in which this can be achieved. He has been an essential leader in the international concept of Human Security, fostering the protection of people and their rights. Currently, he heads Journey Through Conflict, an organization that values the cultural importance of countries in seeking peace.
Plan for Peace’s Board Chair, Robert Berg was instrumental in onboarding Andy Salmon onto our team and has this to say:
“There can be no peace without security and no security without peace. We look forward to deepening our relationships with security services working for non-violent solutions through Andy Salmon’s guidance. It is a joy to welcome to the Board a true leader.”
